To move on and heal from something, you have to make peace. That much everyone knows.
But we tend to find that some things are impossible to make peace with. An ugly truth, a severe trauma, or a bitter unfairness.
In such cases, you’re free to make peace with something else. Something related, a neighboring problem in your mind. Perhaps you can forgive a person tied to that bitter unfairness. Perhaps you can remember the person you were when that severe trauma was created, and reconnect with them. Or you can make peace with the fact that you won’t have peace.
The process of peace is more important than its target.
