Men and women both underestimate the difficulty of being the opposite gender. Neither gender knows the challenges faced by the other. It’s simply not human nature to fully fathom what one doesn’t experience.
This doesn’t mean the struggles of mankind and struggles of womankind are quantifiably equal. I strongly believe that women are the oppressed gender overall.
But in a time of superheating identity discourse, genders need to be humble before each other. If men and women could both remind themselves that the other side has it harder than they imagine, we could begin to lay down arms.
